Founding AI Research Engineer

The role

As a Founding AI Research Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping Catapult’s scientific and research direction. Your work will span retrieval and knowledge-base systems, reasoning models, and models that reason about information on screen and across other applications.

You will work end to end: framing a problem, forming and testing hypotheses, building the system, and carrying it through to a product people use.

Requirements and experience

• 5+ years of experience working on similar research or engineering problems.
• A strong record of solving hard problems in academic or industrial environments.
• The ability to manage scientific workflows and build robust, scalable products.
• Comfort reading, understanding, implementing, and ideally extending current AI research.

Nice to haves

• Experience with NLP, LLMs, or other AI and machine-learning systems.
